Meet the intelligent document processing company
Alphamoon (acquired by Box) is an intelligent document processing tool based on OCR and Zero-shot Learning models for accurate data capture without prior training.
Before May 2023, their organic presence was minimal. They had content, but no systematic strategy, no clear positioning, and limited visibility in a space dominated by tech giants.
Kajetan Wyrzykowski, Head of Marketing at Alphamoon, knew they needed to build an organic acquisition channel from scratch. But they needed experienced organic growth strategists that understood both SaaS and the technical nuances of AI and Machine Learning.
"We needed someone who could curate user-centric content, infuse creativity into expanding our online footprint, and establish a distinct tone of voice for the brand."
Kajetan
The competitive challenge
Alphamoon faced a unique problem: how do you build organic visibility when you're competing against Nanonets, Docsumo, Rossum, and established document processing companies with massive domain authority?
The challenge wasn't just creating content—it was understanding how to position a technical AI product, identify winnable keyword opportunities, and build authority systematically in a crowded space.
They needed someone who could dive into complex AI and machine learning topics, interview technical teams, and translate that into content that both educated prospects and ranked in search.
Finding the right content partner
Kajetan sought an experienced SaaS content marketer who could handle both strategy and execution—someone who understood technical products and could build organic acquisition from the ground up.
What made the difference
Three key qualities set this partnership apart from typical freelance engagements.
- Technical depth with SaaS expertise. Jo had experience in privacy and security topics and quickly grasped complex AI concepts, making it easy to work with Alphamoon's technical team.
- Strategic thinking with execution capability. This wasn't just about writing—it was about identifying keyword opportunities, building content frameworks, and creating a systematic approach to organic growth.
- Collaborative partnership mindset. Kajetan needed someone who could be a thought content partner. "She jumped on board and quickly became the key person to bounce ideas off, provide extensive knowledge about SEO and organic growth, and take matters into her own hands," he said.
Building organic acquisition from scratch
Phase 1: Foundation and SEO audit
Jo started with an audit and keyword research, implementing a prioritization framework to identify where Alphamoon could win against larger competitors.
The focus was finding low-volume, high-intent keywords where Alphamoon could establish authority—topics like "invoice data capture," "document classification," and specific use cases in automated debt collection.
Working with both marketing and product teams, Jo co-developed inbound marketing personas and conducted interviews with internal thought leaders to understand technical differentiators.
"I was genuinely impressed by how quickly she understood complex AI and machine learning topics. She did a great job talking to our technical team, asking the right questions, and then turning their answers into clear and interesting articles."

CTO at Alphamoo
Phase 2: Content production and optimization
With strategy in place, Jo established a systematic content production rhythm—creating blog posts, landing pages, and website copy that educated prospects while targeting strategic keywords.
The approach balanced quick wins with long-term positioning. Jo optimized existing pages, implemented technical SEO improvements, and built content around specific use cases that potential customers were searching for.
She also designed a backlink strategy, using social media channels and online communities to increase visibility and strengthen Alphamoon's domain authority.

"Her strengths lie in the well-balanced mix of solid foundations—a good grip over SaaS specifics, an excellent understanding of how content online works and how to optimize it—and openness to trial-and-error methodology."
Kajetan
Phase 3: Scaling and solid organic growth results
As content gained traction, Alphamoon started appearing in featured snippets and ranking for competitive terms. The keyword "how to keep track of invoices and payments" earned a featured snippet. For "image information extraction," Alphamoon ranked higher than established competitor Nanonets.

Most impressively, Alphamoon began competing for essential industry keywords like "document data extraction" (volume: 100, competing against Google and Amazon) and "AI powered OCR"—terms that directly drove qualified leads.

Organic keywords grew from 41 in May 2023 to 328 by February 2024—an 8x increase.
What changed
The strategic approach delivered measurable results across traffic, conversions, and competitive positioning.
247% year-over-year organic growth: From May 2023 to February 2024, overall organic traffic grew 247% compared to the previous year. Blog traffic specifically grew over 5,000%.
Competitive keyword wins: Alphamoon secured rankings and featured snippets for high-intent, commercial keywords like "+invoice +ocr +software" (CPC: $13.82)—terms that drove direct signups.
Domain authority growth: Referring domains increased from 124 in May 2023 to 185 by February 2024, strengthening overall site authority.
Market positioning: Alphamoon established itself as a credible player in intelligent document processing, competing directly with enterprise platforms in search results.
"Directing Alphamoon toward stable growth in the organic sphere has been an enormous success, and it wouldn't have happened without Jo's work," Kajetan said.

What made it work
The partnership succeeded because of three core factors that aligned strategy, execution, and organizational fit.
- Strategic collaboration: "We worked together on projects conceptually, and I could trust that Jo would bring these ideas to fruition," Kajetan explained
- Quality execution: Jo balanced speed with quality—quick to act but not hasty, bringing the ability to assess strategy effectiveness early and adjust accordingly
- Organizational fit: "She fits in well with the team and is easy to get along with. She's also good at working on her own and keeping things organized," Adam noted
These elements combined to create a partnership that delivered not just short-term wins, but a sustainable foundation for continued organic growth.
Note: Alphamoon was acquired by Box following this engagement, validating the strategic value of the organic acquisition foundation built during this period.
